Job Description

Information about the Role, Line of Business and Team:

Position responsible for leading and achieving strategic initiatives consistent with overall A&H and C&F growth objectives. 

 

What you will do:

  • Establish a deep knowledge of the A&H story, history, strategies and short & long term objectives
  • Manage the delivery of the Accident & Health Division’s value proposition to targeted brokers, MGU/MGAs and distribution building a significant production network by developing strong producer relationships
  • Understand and be able to clearly communicate all A&H insurance product offerings, risk appetite, and submission process. Provide value through the ability to field and evaluate opportunities for viability to ensure successful sales and underwriting outcomes
  • Establish a general knowledge of all C&F products and key resources, and Fairfax as appropriate, to support market penetration objectives, seeking out cross-sell opportunities with both new and existing partners
  • Recruit NEW Brokers/Reinsurance Intermediaries, MGA/MGU’s, and Distributors to work with C&F for the distribution of products and services, building a significant production network by developing strong producer relationships
  • Effectively lead, manage and career develop the business development staff (currently 3 individuals)
  • Work closely with the VP of Growth & Strategic Partnerships in executing A&H’s Key Account Management (KAM) strategy across the Business Units to strengthen Crum & Forster’s relationships, including the voice of the customer, product expansion and other cross marketing initiatives
  • Help cultivate new product and service ideas based on market intel and customer feedback for both insurance and non-insurance distribution
  • Identify potential joint ventures, M&A targets, and other strategic partnership opportunities
  • Analyze market dynamics, market share changes, product line performance, and competitive intelligence
  • Establish a leadership role in strategic planning, collaborating with executive team members, business units and other shared services in achieving A&H LOB growth goals
  • Weekly communication with UW & SS leadership to ensure communication flow regarding product and program updates, including status of live opportunities
  • Ensure suitable metrics are in place to measure performance and report progress utilizing Salesforce. Monitor the execution of LOB business plans and adjust accordingly
  • Collaborate with leadership, special committees, and consultants to execute strategies and communicate those strategies effectively throughout the company (e.g. Salesforce, other)
  • Work closely with marketing and communications to ensure brand and messaging objectives, collateral, presentations and other communications are accurate and effective
  • Oversee conference planning and attendance with UW and marketing/events team to ensure an effective ROI
  • Support C&F wide marketing initiatives including, but not limited to, cross divisional marketing, brand leveraging, events, etc.
  • Provide leadership to the organization, while fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high-performance, and ethical behavior

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in the Accident, Health & Life product space
  • 15+ years of related work experience
  • Ability to travel frequently >35%
  • College degree preferred

Crum & Forster is committed to ensuring a workplace free from discriminatory pay disparities and complying with applicable pay equity laws.  Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $172,700.00 to a maximum of $253,200.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
