What you will do for C&F:

 

This is a hybrid role with working locations in Cherry Hill, Morristown, NYC, or Uniondale.

 

Seneca Custom Property is looking for a dedicated Underwriting Assistant, responsible for using and booking of policies and endorsements within all department standards, performing all pre-quote work required by underwriting as well as various other tasks. 

 

The Underwriting Assistant supports various underwriting processes, including communication with our agents along with internal departments, to address the needs of current and prospective clients. Be able to work side by side with the Underwriters to maintain a common goal of growth and profitability while maintaining relationships with the brokers and their service needs.

 

What you will do for C&F:

 

  • Be able to work independently as well as a part of a team.
  • Detailed Oriented.
  • Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word, Image Right, Duck Creek and WINS is a plus.
  • Issue Binders.
  • Issue & Book policies in WINS/Duck Creek within department standards.
  • Issue & Book various endorsements in WINS/Duck Creek.
  • Complete Fac Cession Slips (Reinsurance).
  • Calculate RP/AP transactions based on account rate/underwriting instructions.
  • (AP=Additional Premium/RP=Return Premium).
  • Determine pro-rate/short rate factors (method of calculating premiums on a short term basis rather than Annual).
  • Perform all pre-quote work requested by the UW i.e. Risk Meter, ISO, Property Shark, Experian, Web Research, Mapping, etc.
  • Run Risk Browser Modeling – helps determine pricing and exposure when there is a catastrophe insurance involved – Hurricane, Flood, Earthquake.
  • Follow up with brokers for outstanding binding subjectivities.
  • Managing Tasks that are assigned in a date/time order.
  • Issue notices (Non-Renewal, Cancellations and Reinstatements in accordance with underwriting and statutory laws).
  • Order Loss Runs when requested.

What you will bring to C&F:

 

  • 1-2 Years of Insurance Company Operations.
  • Strong Communications and Organizational skills, being able to multi-task.
  • Proficient in various Microsoft software applications, such as Excel and Word.
  • Will be able to abide by departmental policies and procedures including guidelines placed by the Property Management Team.

Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $44,000.00 to a maximum of $68,800.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
