Job Description

Cyber Solutions Engineer - remote in Continental US.

 

What you will do:

  • Technical Expertise and Education: Provide expert-level technical guidance on complex security issues. Provide translation and collaboration for other Cyber Solutions team members, underwriting and claims, fostering their professional development and enhancing the overall capabilities of the Cyber Solutions team.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Strategic Risk Mitigation: Conduct in-depth analysis C&F cyber claims trends. Identify root causes of recurring issues and emerging threat patterns. Develop data-driven, proactive risk mitigation strategies based on these root cause insights. Collaborate with underwriting and claims teams to refine insurance products and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Strategic Cyber Risk Management: Create and implement targeted risk mitigation programs that address the most critical and frequent root causes of claims, significantly improving clients' security postures and reducing overall risk exposure.
  • Advanced Cyber Preparation and Implementation: Lead complex cyber preparation initiatives for high-value clients. Design and oversee the implementation of sophisticated cyber solutions across multiple accounts, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Project Leadership: Manage large-scale loss mitigation projects from inception to completion. Coordinate cross-functional teams within C&F, set project milestones, and ensure timely delivery of solutions. Quantify progress and overall value to stakeholders (brokers, insureds, underwriters or other internal C&F teams)
  • Cyber Incident Response Leadership: Serve as an initial point of contact during critical cyber incidents. Coordinate response efforts between internal teams, clients, and third-party vendors. Flexible and adaptable to an on-call schedule rotating with other team members to be calming translator during the insured’s initial engagement with the claims process.
  • Thought Leadership and Client Education: Create and deliver high-impact presentations, workshops, and training sessions on advanced cybersecurity topics. Represent the company at industry conferences and events. Develop whitepapers and technical articles to showcase expertise and drive business growth.
  • Innovation in Cyber Solutions: Lead the development of new cybersecurity risk management services and products. Conduct market research, identify emerging trends, and propose innovative solutions to address evolving cyber threats.

What you will bring to C & F:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with at least 4 years in a senior technical or consultative role.
  • Deep expertise in multiple areas of cybersecurity, such as network security, application security, cloud security, and cyber risk management.
  • Willingness to periodically be “on call” for incident response triage.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale cybersecurity projects and initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex cybersecurity challenges.
  • Outstanding communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including C-level executives.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including experience mentoring junior team members and influencing stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the cyber insurance industry and its unique challenges.
  • Active participation in professional cybersecurity communities and ongoing commitment to staying current with emerging threats and technologies.
  • Advanced professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or equivalent are strongly preferred.

Crum & Forster is committed to ensuring a workplace free from discriminatory pay disparities and complying with applicable pay equity laws.  Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $78,600 to a maximum of $147,700. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
