Job Description

This is a temporary opportunity based out of Morristown, NJ/Hybrid.

 

What you will do:

Responsible for the preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual journal entries and reconciliations and any other monthly/quarterly/annual close tasks.

  • Prepare monthly general ledger interface entries to record premiums, losses and commissions
  • Prepare monthly profit center control schedules to reconcile system reports to general ledger
  • Record monthly/quarterly topside journal entries upon request
  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations
  • Prepare quarterly/annual sign off packages for SOX compliance
  • Prepare quarterly IFRS supplemental reporting schedules for premiums and losses by line of business
  • Prepare quarterly loss adjustment expense analysis for internal management review
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly bordereaux, journal entries and settlements for Nonvoluntary Pools and Associations
  • Prepare and update as necessary desktop procedures.

What you will bring to C&F:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Possess a basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Strong accounting skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with Excel, Word and Outlook (familiarity with Access and excel macro a plus)
  • Some exposure and knowledge of general ledger software is a plus 
  • Ability to work and communicate well with other staff and other functional departments within the organization
  • Regularly communicate with manager and makes him/her aware of current work load
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and follow up on issues
  • Ability to take ownership of work product

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $30.00hr to a maximum of $38.00hr. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
