Job Description

The Senior Project Manager has an entrepreneurial mindset, understands how projects are aligned to strategic goals and is a change agent within the organization. The role provides project management expertise and oversight of concurrent small to large-sized projects. The Senior Project Manager leads selection of appropriate project methodology; establishes a project plan in collaboration with project stakeholders; builds a self-directing project team; facilitates project execution, monitoring, controlling, reporting, removes roadblocks and closes the project.

 

This role reports to the Vice President, Strategy & Performance Optimization.

 

What you will do:

  • Ensure project objectives are defined and understood by team & stakeholders
  • Establish project approach and methodology – agile, traditional or hybrid
  • Ensure right resources & build motivated self-directing team
  • Develop schedule & monitor progress: planned, actual & projected
  • Monitor project resources: planned, actual & projected
  • Monitor project costs: planned, actual, and projected
  • Identify and mitigate project risks & roadblocks
  • Establish & manage communications strategy for core team & stakeholders
  • Provide key performance indicators / benchmarks to monitor project success
  • Lead lessons learned throughout project
  • Build project charters and cost benefit analysis
  • Initiate and participate in knowledge sharing activities and best practices
  • Other duties as assigned

What YOU will bring to C&F:

  • Strong communications skills & stakeholder management
  • Continuous improvement / best practice mindset
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred
  • 8 + year’s project management experience is required
  • PMP designation preferred (Agile Delivery) 
  • Scrum designations preferred  
  • Project Portfolio Management a plus
  • Insurance experience preferred

Crum & Forster is committed to ensuring a workplace free from discriminatory pay disparities and complying with applicable pay equity laws.  Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $91,000.00 to a maximum of $171,100.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
