Job Description

Overview:

 

 

This role is responsible for addressing day-to-day business needs by defining requirements, analyzing processes, conducting impact analysis, supporting Product Owners within the IT Discovery Team, leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts, creating release notes, developing training documentation, writing acceptance criteria, and developing test plans. Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft products (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) is essential for managing requirements, tracking progress, and collaborating with technical teams.

 

The ideal candidate will act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that solutions meet business objectives and deliver value while leveraging their expertise in insurance practices and IT collaboration.

 

 

What you will do:

 

 

Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document detailed requirements for projects, system enhancements, and process improvements with defined measurable success criteria for system functionality and process changes.
• Conduct interviews, workshops, and meetings to understand business needs, challenges, and opportunities. Write clear and detailed acceptance criteria for user stories and requirements to ensure alignment with business needs and technical solutions.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications, workflows, and use cases for technical teams. Ensure all requirements are clearly defined and aligned with organizational goals and insurance industry standards.

 

Impact Analysis:
• Perform detailed impact analysis to assess the effects of proposed changes on business processes, systems, and stakeholders, particularly in the context of travel insurance products and services.
• Identify dependencies, risks, and potential challenges associated with proposed solutions or changes.

 

Support for Product Owners and IT Discovery Team:
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners within the IT Discovery Team to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions. Provide insights and recommendations to Product Owners based on business requirements, impact analysis, and stakeholder feedback.
• Assist Product Owners in defining and refining product backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Support the IT Discovery Team in identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement in system functionality and processes.

 

User Acceptance Testing (UAT):
• Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts to ensure solutions meet business requirements and expectations.
• Develop UAT test plans, test cases, and scenarios based on business requirements and functional specifications. Monitor testing progress and ensure all issues are documented, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define UAT objectives, success criteria, and timelines.
• Facilitate UAT sessions with end-users, providing guidance and support throughout the testing process.
• Document and track UAT results, including issues, defects, and feedback, and work with technical teams to resolve them.
• Ensure all UAT findings are addressed before final deployment and provide sign-off for production readiness.

 

Release Notes and Training Documentation:
• Collaborate with technical teams to gather information on system changes and translate it into user-friendly release notes.
• Develop training documentation, including user guides, process manuals, and quick reference materials, to support end-users in adopting new systems or processes.
• Continuously update training materials and release notes to reflect system updates and evolving business needs.

 

Production Support Tickets and Work:
• Monitor, analyze, and resolve production support tickets related to system issues, defects, or user-reported problems.
• Act as point of contact for production support issues, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
• Collaborate with technical teams to identify root causes of production issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Document recurring production issues and recommend process or system improvements to reduce future incidents.
• Track and prioritize production support tickets using tools like Jira and Azure DevOps, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
• Provide regular updates on the status of production support tickets and resolutions.

 

Process Analysis and Improvement:
• Analyze existing business processes to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement, particularly in insurance operations.
• Develop process maps and workflows to document current and future state processes.
• Recommend solutions to optimize processes and improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.
• Work with stakeholders to implement process changes and monitor their impact.

 

Documentation and Communication:
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, process workflows, UAT test plans, acceptance criteria, release notes, and training materials.
• Communicate effectively, ensuring clarity and alignment on deliverables. Continuously update training materials and release notes to reflect system updates and evolving business needs.
• Facilitate meetings and workshops to drive collaboration and decision-making.

 

Knowledge Management and Continuous Improvement:
• Develop a deep understanding of business processes, systems, and organizational goals to provide informed recommendations. Leverage knowledge of travel insurance products, policies, and regulations to ensure solutions align with industry standards and compliance requirements.
• Use insights gained from day-to-day interactions, impact analysis, UAT efforts, and training feedback to identify trends, recurring challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for travel insurance products, business processes, and systems, providing guidance and support to stakeholders. Stay updated on insurance industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to provide informed recommendations.

 

 

What you will bring to C&F:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a Business Analysis capacity.
  • Understanding of travel insurance products, policies, and industry practices is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with IT teams, Product Owners, and Agile methodologies is a plus.
  • Proven experience in leading and coordinating UAT efforts, writing acceptance criteria, and developing test plans.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) or insurance certifications (e.g., AINS, CPCU) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly understand complex systems and processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in documenting business requirements, functional specifications, workflows, UAT test plans, acceptance criteria, release notes, and training materials.
  • Experience with conducting impact analysis and prioritizing work efforts.
  • Familiarity with insurance regulations, compliance requirements, and industry standards.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $53,400 to a maximum of $88,000. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution
