Job Description

An Executive Subrogation Specialist identifies, evaluates, and concludes multi line subrogation, contribution, and collection files within the delegation of authority guidelines to maximize the recovery of the company’s loss payments and expenses from responsible third parties and collect on insured’s contractual obligations. The Executive Subrogation Specialist also has the responsibility to work with front line claim staff to achieve the highest possible dollar return. The position requires strong analytical and investigative skills as well as multi-jurisdictional subrogation experience. This person is responsible for directing supplementary investigations, analyzing data, resolving claims and deductible collections by working with the C&F front line claim professional, TPAs, insureds, attorneys, vendors and other strategic internal and external business partners and insurance carriers.

What you will do for C&F:

 

  1. Receives assignment of new/reassigned recovery files when appropriate, bringing them to conclusion through investigation, negotiation, and/or litigation.
  2. Researches or directs the applicable legal issues relative to making an assessment as to subrogation viability and collection actions. Prepares reports, documents claim files and assures appropriate and timely cost benefit analysis of recovery.
  3. Provides technical assistance/training and direction to C&F staff on specialized subrogation handling techniques, disposition of salvage, negotiation, collection, and legal matters.
  4. Receives assignments of special projects requiring the collection and analysis of data, and assembly of information for presentation to internal and external contacts.

 

What you will bring to C&F:

 

  • Strong work ethic, professionalism, ability to recognize and articulate complex claims/theories of liability, as well strong collaboration ability-assisting with the triage/ assignment of new referrals, mentoring both internal and external business partners, assuming new roles when needed.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6-10 years of claim related or subrogation/liability claims experience. Preferred State Adjuster licenses.
  • A candidate for this position is likely to possess a bachelor’s degree with 6-10+ years of claim/recoveries and/or collection experience who have proven their multi-jurisdictional and multi-line expertise in the field.
  • Independent worker

  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office and Excel

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Possess and demonstrates good interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, on a consistent basis.

  • Customer Service oriented

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $64,700.00 to a maximum of $121,600.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
