Job Description

Financial Services – Investment Accountant

 

The Financial Services Group of Crum & Forster is looking for a multi-talented, dynamic Accountant with investment accounting experience to join the Investment Financial Reporting Group.

 

 

What you will do:

  • Prepare monthly investment journal entries
  • Prepare quarterly investment reconciliations
  • Prepare quarterly investment roll forwards
  • Assist with overall reporting and accounting of the Company's investment portfolio on an IFRS and Statutory basis
  • Prepare quarterly and annual Statutory investment schedules for each insurance subsidiary
  • Prepare quarterly Statutory compliance analysis against requisite statutes
  • Assist with the preparation of the audited financial statements
  • Research and reconcile investment transactions cash and trade activity
  • Assist in streamlining current processes

What YOU will bring to C&F:

 

Technological:

  • Strong analytical and accounting skills
  • Intermediate /Advance experience with Excel (sumifs, vlookups, pivot tables, macros), Word and Outlook (familiarity with PAM – State Street Global Exchange a plus)

Interpersonal and Communication:

  • Ability to work and communicate well with other staff and other functional departments within the organization
  • Regularly communicate with their manager and make them aware of the current workload

Organizational:

  • Ability to accept, initiate, and implement changes in process in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and follow up on issues
  • Ability to work with minimal upfront guidance and take ownership of work

Education/Other:

  • Bachelors of Science in Accounting/Finance
  • 1+ years of experience in the accounting industry
  • CPA a plus

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $53,500.00 to a maximum of $78,400.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
