Senior Compliance Analyst, Alternative Risk (Eatontown, NJ or Remote)

Information about the Role, Line of Business and Team:

 

Products include Alternative Risk coverages offered on an Excess and Surplus (E&S) basis including: General Liability, Commercial Auto, Contingent Liability, Contractual Liability, and Professional Liability.

 

This position is in the Compliance Department, and is responsible for (i) Proficiency in both admitted and non-admitted policy and endorsement creation (ii) reviewing prospective programs to determine program, policy setup, and viability for placement on an E&S basis; (iii) review coverages for adherence to the various state required guidelines; (iv)  working with underwriting, legal, regulatory, actuarial, and claims areas, ensuring that policies and/or certificates are drafted and issued accurately, compliantly and in accordance with risk appetite; and (v) for conducting audits to further ensure that all policies, certificates and advertising have been properly issued. 

 

The Senior Compliance Analyst operates under the direction of the Compliance Director and is responsible for the maintenance and regulatory compliance of assigned Property & Casualty (P&C) products offered by Crum & Forster Accident & Health (A&H) Division.

 

 

What you will do:

 

  • Work with business leaders to evaluate prospective P&C program structure for assigned lines of business, identifying issues and facilitating resolution
  • Independently draft product policy forms, including manuscript endorsements that provide needed coverage changes while maintaining the integrity of the policy form, primarily for non-admitted Excess and Surplus lines Property & Casualty (P&C) coverages
  • Perform industry research and regulatory research of non-admitted compliance issues impacting business areas
  • Create policy templates and issuance guidelines for Excess and Surplus product lines
  • Develop and maintain product and compliance guidance (P&Ps) and other tools to facilitate Alternative Risk business growth
  • Manage complex product projects for assigned lines of business or products (admitted or non-admitted), collaborating with Underwriting, Claims, Legal, and Actuarial to produce final quality insurance products
  • Respond to routine compliance-related requests and inquiries from the various business areas
  • Research and communicate the compliance implications of new products and enhancements as well as other corporate strategic initiatives
  • Facilitate underwriting training on industry trends and sharing lessons learned from significant losses
  • Establish relationships with business units to foster teamwork
  • File via SERFF, Product Forms, Rates, and Rate Rules (where required) and communicate with regulators to secure approval in the required jurisdictions.
  • Communicate with state insurance departments and other regulatory agencies as required
  • Perform other related duties, including short or long-term projects, as assigned

 

What YOU will bring to C&F:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years of equivalent work experience in the insurance industry, ideally with exposure to surplus lines placements, product and policy development, including drafting P&C coverage forms for Excess and Surplus lines insurance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Excess and Surplus lines P&C compliance laws and regulations
  • Awareness of emerging risks and industry trends
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and an openness to an ever changing, fast paced environment
  • Meticulous with a high degree of accuracy and ability to multitask.
  • Strong research, decision-making, reporting and analytical skills.

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $82,900 to a maximum of $121,600. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
