As a key component of our Specialty Business Unit, within the Accident & Health division, TII provides travel protection plans to help each individual travel confidently. We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented IT Interns to work on a broad range of development projects including contributing to the TII Odyssey Applications and various other internal platforms. This role will coordinate with internal business stakeholders, business analysts, and other software engineers to complete project work.  Additionally, this role will participate in daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives for the projects you are involved in as well as participate in code reviews with senior engineers.

 

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in IT software development within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Job Description

What you will do:

  • Collaborate with business users and internal development teams to understand project requirements and deliver solutions
  • Work on specific modules to experiment on a retired platform to contribute meaningful code, deliver business value, and develop a proof of concept
  • Directly write code that impacts the business and see your work come to life
  • Gain hands-on experience in Full stack development using SQL, .Net, and Angular/React
  • Review requirements in Azure DevOps (ADO) and assist with estimating development effort
  • Write and maintain unit test cases to ensure code quality and reliability
  • Participate in code reviews with senior development resources, incorporating feedback to improve coding skills
  • Use Azure DevOps to build, test, and deploy working code artifacts
  • Attend agile sessions including standups, sprint plannings, and retrospectives
  • Other Tasks and Duties as Assigned: Perform additional tasks and duties as required to support the IT department and overall company objectives.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science/Analytics, Information Technology or Computer Science from an accredited College/University
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required
  • Prior coding experience is preferred
  • Familiarity or interest in learning programming language (Angular/React, SQL, .Net)

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $16 per hour to a maximum of $27.50 per hour. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
