Job Description

 

 

The Director of Data Management & Analytics will lead a dynamic team supporting strategic initiatives within Executive Lines and across the C&F organization.  This role is responsible for overseeing systems implementations and optimizing on time project delivery in an Agile environment.  This individual will help define and manage product backlogs while collaborating with underwriters, leadership and multiple development teams in support of building systems solutions for Professional Liability, Management Liability, Cyber and Technology E&O products.  The Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance business performance, improve operational efficiency, and support the company’s growth objectives.

 

What you will do:

 

  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of product business analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional growth.
  • Product Strategy / Roadmap Management
    • Prioritize features based on business value, technical constraints, and regulatory requirements
    • Balance competing priorities across multiple insurance products while managing stakeholder expectations
    • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure alignment with enterprise-wide initiatives
    • Define measurable success criteria for product implementations and track outcomes
  • Systems Implementation
    • Be the primary point of contact at all stages of the development cycle.
    • Lead and oversee the implementation of rate, quote bind and issuance systems and tools, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
    • Coordinate with IT, business units, and external vendors to deliver quality solutions on time and within budget.
    • Document functional product requirements in the form of well-defined User Stories and actionable Acceptance Criteria.
    • Maintain the product backlog, being accountable for its contents, prioritization and planning.
    • Work in conjunction with Product Business Analysts to complete User Acceptance Testing of tickets prior to deployments.
    • Be an active participant in Agile ceremony meetings (stand up, refinement, sprint planning).
    • Cultivate working knowledge of companion systems to foster additional automation opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for increased system efficiencies and innovative tech solutions to solve business challenges.
    • Communicate expected value to stakeholders by iteration (sprint, monthly, quarterly) with a focus on increasing end user engagement and satisfaction.
    • Develop and execute comprehensive change management plans for modifications and new implementations, inclusive of documentation, training materials, product demonstrations and training for end users.
    • Serve as the primary escalation point for production issues related to implemented products.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance
    • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
    • Implement best practices for data governance and security.
    • Assist with creation and distribution of regular metrics reports, inclusive of data generated from Duck Creek, booking and claims systems, Submission, Snowflake, Underwriting Workbench, Tableau, JIRA and other automated tools.

 

What you will bring to C&F:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience, working in insurance industry preferred – familiarity with Executive lines preferred (Professional Liability, Management Liability and eRisk).
  • Has 5+ years of experience in a related role in the property & casualty insurance industry, preferably in Executive lines.
  • Experience managing teams and leading systems implementations.
  • Strong proficiency in Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira/Confluence).
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with large teams.
  • Working knowledge of insurance operations, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Has experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software solutions in support of underwriting, financial or claims application systems. Duck Creek experience is preferred.
  • Thrives in a team environment and enjoys active collaboration with others.
  • Has excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Can successfully prioritize competing priorities to develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap aligned with operational and business objectives.
  • Has ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
  • Has a keen eye for detail and can spot opportunities for requirement reuse and optimization across products.
  • Ability to interpret and act on ambiguous requirements, proactively driving clarification from stakeholders to ensure effective progress and successful outcomes.
  • Will act as a stakeholder advocate, championing the client experience.
  • Can communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Is familiar with regulatory compliance as it relates to insurance and corresponding potential impacts on product development.
  • Demonstrates the ability to bring a project to conclusion on time while acknowledging insurance is an environment of ongoing change.

Crum & Forster is committed to ensuring a workplace free from discriminatory pay disparities and complying with applicable pay equity laws.  Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $116,600 to a maximum of $171,100. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
